Guildford and Waverley

Guildford and Waverley

Our Guildford and Waverley population will start well, stay and live well, age well and die well.

We are an Alliance of local partners including the NHS, local Councils, health and care providers and the community and voluntary sector. We support a population of just over 220,000 people across the Boroughs of Guildford and Waverley. We have joined together to address health inequalities and make a difference in helping our communities live healthier lives.

We look at the needs and challenges of our populations, encourage innovative thinking and new ways of working, to build on the strengths of our local services and maximise opportunities to deliver services to local people when and where they need them.

Aims and challenges

Our strategic goals for the next five years are to:

  • Improve health and wellbeing
  • Support our communities
  • Integrate health and care services
  • Put the local health economy on a sustainable financial path.

We have several challenges as a local population, including social isolation and loneliness, falls prevention, end-of-life care and addressing the broader determinants of health. We are also focused on improving the patient experience and ensuring people get the right care in the right place at the right time.
