12 Days of Winter Wellness campaign to support residents this winter
NHS Surrey Heartlands has launched a new social media campaign, “12 Days of Winter Wellness”, to help Surrey residents stay well, informed and supported throughout the colder months.
Running from 11th to 22nd December, the campaign shares practical advice, personal stories and NHS guidance covering flu vaccination, winter illness, children’s health, pregnancy, Pharmacy First and how to access NHS services over the festive period.
Each day features a short video, animation or image, including messages from local clinicians such as Pharmacist Jay Amin and doctors Anita Raina and Seun Akande, alongside real stories from Surrey residents.
The campaign aims to help reduce the impact of winter pressures on local health services by giving people clear, accessible advice, while encouraging residents to take simple steps to protect themselves and others.
Dr Seun Akande, Clinical Head of Primary Care for Guildford & Waverley, said:
Winter can be a challenging time for many people, especially those who are older, have young children or are living with long-term conditions.
This campaign brings together practical advice that can help people stay well and know where to turn if they need support.
By taking small steps such as getting vaccinated, using local pharmacies and looking after our own health, we can make a real difference to the wellbeing of our communities this winter.
The full campaign will run across Surrey Heartlands’ social media channels.
