New guide to support the mental health of children, young people and families in Surrey
Children's Mental Health Week 2026 takes place this week (9-15 February) and we are marking it with the launch of a new printable Quick Guide to Mental Health Support for professionals working with children, young people, and families in Surrey. This resource provides a summary of key support options, including:
- Groups and one-to-one sessions
- Online and telephone support
- Crisis support and referral pathways
- Help for parents/carers around emerging issues, including gaming
- Support for young people worried about a friend
The guide was co-developed by partners across Surrey County Council, NHS Surrey Heartlands and Mindworks.
Professionals are encouraged to share this resource with the children and families they are supporting. You can access the guide on the Mental Health and Wellbeing page of the Healthy Surrey website (scroll to the bottom of the page).
We welcome your feedback. If you have any feedback on the Quick Guide or any suggestions for the next version, please contact public.health@surreycc.gov.uk
