The NHS in Surrey is launching a series of free webinars with clinicians to raise awareness and educate the public on key women’s health conditions.

The first webinar of the mini-series is taking place on Tuesday 24th June, 7-8pm on the topic of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Premenstrual Syndrome and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder.

The series comes following the success of a public webinar held in April on the topic of menopause where nearly 100 people joined to learn, debunk common myths and be signposted to support.

Associate Director for Women and Children at Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System, Vicky Williams, said:

We are really excited to be able to provide these free informative sessions for members of the public to help inform on conditions that affect the lives of many of us every day.

In our latest webinar we will be informing the public on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Premenstrual Syndrome, Premenstrual Disorder as well as myth busting the use of hormonal contraception in the treatment of gynaecological conditions.

The following webinars are planned for the coming months (dates to be confirmed):

  • September: Endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleeding in adolescence
  • October: Fertility and Cervical Screening
  • November: Menopause

The webinars are open to all and are for patient education, ran by a GP clinical lead with options to ask questions via a Q&A session.

Members of the public are required to register online for the event beforehand
