Working with our communities

Working with communities in North West Surrey

Local communities are our most important partner. We listen to their experiences and aim to understand their ideas to make their lives happier and healthier.

Going forwards we want to be forward thinking and learn from best practice and the most up-to-date research to give us a clear picture of our complex population. We are committed to involving local people using these principles:

  • Feedback
  • Continuity, consistency and professionalism
  • Continuous learning
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Empowerment
  • Openness, clarity and transparency
  • Inclusion and accessibility

Be part of making change happen

Are you full of ideas, energy and have a passion to improve health, care and wellbeing services?

We’re looking for people who can:

  • Provide an independent voice
  • Help us understand residents’ views and ideas
  • Take part in research, engagement and events
  • Ask questions

If that sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll get to meet new people, learn valuable new skills and be a vital part building better services for generations to come.

Tribe

Helping you to find local activities, groups and volunteering opportunities.

Tribe info

For over a year residents of the Boroughs of Spelthorne, Woking and Runnymede have been able to find out what is going on this their area through Tribe.

Tribe, which can be accessed through a smart phone or website, is easy to use and residents can find out what activities, groups and events are happening in their local area.

The newest feature on Tribe is volunteering opportunities. Residents can look at these opportunities, select one they like then find the details of the charity or organisation to contact.

Local organisations, groups and people with events can ‘on board’ details of activities for all to see, with times, dates, venues, and contact details for things like:

  • Health, fitness, sport groups and activities
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Parent and toddler groups
  • Community hubs and advice centres
  • Youth services
  • Community events
