More is needed for children and young people in the area, particularly mental healh
Latest update: Mental Health Investment Fund awarded Redhill/Reigate (and Merstham Park School) £7000 to run The Teen Project. The funding will support The Teen Project’s 6-week Confidence Course at Carrington and Merstham Park Schools. It covers one-on-one mentoring, weekly group workshops, and ongoing support via an online platform. Targeting girls aged 11-16 at risk of mental health challenges, the course aims to improve emotional management, resilience, body confidence, and self-esteem. All funds go directly to program delivery, benefiting both students and school staff.
Improving Support for Parents, Carers, and Schools in SEN Provision

The Children, Families and Lifelong Learning committee scrutinises the council's SEN efforts, pushing for better support and communication. Families can ask questions publicly, with responses recorded on the council's website. Council officers work closely with Surrey Family Voice, which advocates for SEN families.
